you missed out on a true new york evening. after multiple drinks at the bowery hotel we landed at avenue. i was warned about the place, but i never envisioned a place where bottles of crystal arrived with waitresses holding fireworks! beyond imagination. it was like the end of time. i was waiting for jesus to descend and put us all out of our miseries especially the fireworks… yet right there, next to us, was ms. kirsten dunst sitting on my fuckin’ jacket and vincent gallo at the bar (not ordering belvedere)! never before had i seen such a mix of dorksters and hipsters in one place. what is this world coming to? by uh

les valeureux
for those who read french, i might suggest this really beautiful blog. it’s called “les valeureux” which means the braves and it’s the meeting of a talented photographer and a talented writer. so one provide a picture and the other one writes a little text about it. there is a new one every day and it’s really powerfull. for those who can’t read french, just have a look at the pictures, that worth it whatever.
“La voix de Lou Reed me shootait un peu plus de minute en minute ; j’oubliai le froid, la solitude de cette ville désertée par la Semaine Sainte, cette question qui montait : « qu’est-ce que je fous là ? ». La lumière avait la liquidité opaque qu’a parfois l’East River au niveau du pont de Williamsburg : longues traînées jaunes sur une eau d’un violet sourd. Derrière : la ville, étonnamment calme depuis Brooklyn. (…)” by pp’

more xavier veilhan-versailles
today the selby posted pics from the xavier veilhan show in versailles. the images really render the strange atmosphere of the exhibition, as well as the chateau, a lot more accurately than anything I could have done. and as it’s one of my favorite shows to go up for a very long time, i think this really completes our previous post. enjoy by pp’
lou doillon + vanessa bruno
french fashion designer vanessa bruno presents a wonderful movie to illustrate her new collection. it features lou doillon and is really consistent with the “no mistake” universe of the designer, from the cloths to the unconventional campaigns shot by mark borthwick to this movie. really nice. bien joué! by pp’

absinthe spoons at bblessing
for those who love vincent van gogh, but feel a little more now, bblessing have made these super nice absinthe spoons. in the old days, holed spoons were used to hold the sugar while pouring the absinthe in the glass to make it sweeter. it’s an all-time beauty of craftsmanship but these ones are almost good enough to frame! love it! by pp’
polaroid is back in action
there is something special about the tangible, unpredictable, instant and analog that the fancy digital stuff can not replace. so, we are thrilled about the impossible project’s success! the polaroid licensee – the summit global group- decided this week to re-launch the legendary polaroid one step camera and is therefore commissioning the impossible project to develop and produce a limited edition of polaroid branded instant films some time in 2010. hurra! by kv
