supersexy superfine: brandless jeans that fit

lucy pinter and flora evans are the london girls behind superfine

it’s hard to miss when you make super fit jeans, sans branding with hidden details, and put em on irina, doutzen and missy… the problems begin when everyone and their mother wants to rock & roll, but are just not ready to starve for it. while the duo behind superfine jeans have been at this since 2003 one can only wonder how much longer will the skinny last… i’m already onward into my pijamas… superfine jeans of london get em while you can. by dd

they don’t shoot horses do they?

hermés is probably one of the only luxury brands with something to own. it’s quite nice to see them milking the horse and the orange ribbon (in other instances) and how it actually works when they do it. by dd

straggling down new york’s financial district one would expect to find dinosaur bones scattered around from the jurassic financial era, but not a live, hopping, wooly underneath the woolworth buidling!! everyone from waris, to mark borthwick, to karen ellison have graced its thrift-store decor which seems to grow and accumulate with each of my visits there. the wooly has officially become the go-to place for recapturing the intimate parties that gave new york the old reputation it once had. this last saturday fashion designer camilla staerk along with her friends, victor glemaud and hanuk hosted a small but super fun gathering. as expected an eclectic and fun crowd of friends coupled with good music (may kwok & rod) melted the night hours away. all photo credits go to our charming host hanuk. by xy

style negligé

another nice cut from the archives of fantastic man. the intro to french writer benoit duteurtre interview. this is just the most accurate line i ever read about french style… feels a bit arrogant, so right. my favorite part is “shabby maintenance”;-) … between us, i absolutely disagree with the very subject of this article as well as mister jean michel jarre to be great examples of the “style negligé”, serge, of course. but that’s my point of view… by pp.

elein fleiss – tourist

after starting purple magazine with mr zham in the 90’s, elein fleiss set up apart from the kinky direction her old buddy was taken with “purple fashion” and started “les cahiers purple”. certainly closer to the original philosophy of the duo, her publication seems to come and go without noise and regularity. the pictures she’s taking of places with soul were published in tourist magazine. so soft and dreamy, it’s a nice alternative to the over crowded business of the sharp and cold interior photography business. love it. by pp.

I AM MYSTIC

and you thought nothing good comes out of LA? dona daneshi has been quietly designing some beautifully dark and lovingly feminine dresses from her la atelier (the la’ is not a spelling mistake but actually the LA)… so quietly in fact that we just heard of her in NY. let’s hope this develops… by dd
