its a bit funny that the entire world power is after a group of 20 year old digital rockstar hacktivist, calling themselves annonymous who are set to use their knowledge, as they say ‘at preserving free speech on the Internet’. they just arrested dozens of ‘suspects’ in the us and uk to ‘set an example’ for hacking into paypal, amazon, and various government sites including the CIA. the reason? a solidarity stance with wikileaks founder, and to punish paypal for its efforts to block payment to wiki, and amazon for kicking wiki off their servers in order to silence them. so far this has failed, not to mention that its rather biased and illegal as far as freedom of speech goes… but you know what, who really cares, let’s massage our brains with some pretty pictures. dd where’s your next post? by xy

paper wars: whatever happened to them?
the modified Ak-47 by hiroko shiratori
the mills bomb (“pineapple” grenade), initially conceptualized in 1915 by golf club designer william mills, and here in paper.
these are still cool and relevant. the whole idea of “paper” and “war” is already great to start with, but the immaculate, detailed pieces delivered on the words. “paper wars” was an exhibition of paper reproductions of classic weapons, that was shown at the craze gallery in london in 2008. the group show represented a selection of international artists/ designers, like designer ben wilson, product dsigner el ultimo grito, designer pixelgarten, object guru hiroko shiratori and the like who took the idea of cut n’ paste to a new level. since then the group has disbanded and no news has been heard short of their ongoing individual works. a shame as this would be a relevant show today! although not to worry, more wars are sure to come, and unfortunately unrelated to paper! by dd

Kale Teter: Do we have a winner?
months ago NARS cosmetics launched a contest online for the best makeup talent to match a look. the site www.makeupyourmind.com got flooded with millions of hits from across the world by pros and non pros. one of our friends took the challenge so we kept up with her, egging her on. but the irony of it all is that at the end, kale teter, a boy, appears to be the real winner based on our assessment of his total votes, and he rocked it too. based on the rules of the game if he indeed wins, he will get a trip to new york with a friend, with hotel car and meals included and not only receive a lick-able NARS make up set, but also get to go backstage during fashion week and hang with the cream on top. not bad for a boy from texas… girls we are disappointed with the “all of youz”… the world is obviously ruled by men, once again. NARS is supposed to release the winners soon so keep an eye all you people. site idea, design and production by new york luxury agency ceft and company. by cm
