yes to Noh Suntag
at least these works from the korean born artist noh suntag, bring to us the eerie beauty of being lost in the masses of culture. coming from a background in political studies which evolved into photography, his main work involves collecting, and communicating through images regarding wars and the division of the korean peninsular in order to expose the way in which various forms of social violence in contemporary korea are linked to the war of half a century ago. by kl

Gil Scott-Heron’s New York is Killing Me : Directed by Chris Cunningham
some sharp comment about chris cunningham and his ability to mold your emotions with visuals, sound and time isn’t necessary for this post. it’s a haunting piece. and if you’ve ever lived in new york i know it will push a button somewhere. by kl

murakami takes versailles
a less hyped exhibition of the king of pop-art from the east, takashi murakami exhibits at le chateau de versailles. the same contrast between plastic-pop and gilded baroque as the jeff koons retrospective a couple years back, and even the more poetic xavier veilhan, but i don’t think we’ll ever grow tired of it. by kl
