my bike was stabbed last week. I think it might be about time to get a foldable one that I can carry up my six flights of stairs and hide under my bed. I quite like this one by areaware.

in case you haven’t seen enough fancy, luxurious bikes lately; here’s one in gold and crystals. aurumania’s gold bike is made to order and discretely shipped to your location (wherever you may be in the world) for a mere 80,000 euros. Who said the luxury market was tumbling? by kv

Lambretta mama: the Lambretta sidecar
Mission one electric motorcyle achieves world record
the mission one electric bike, designed by our good friends at fuse project, has achieved a world record of 150.059 miles/hour at the bonneville speedway salt flats. now of course the big question regarding the world record is: how many electric bikes are out there to begin with?
the mission one is admittedly of the best looking bikes in the crotch rocket category, which is a hard one to pull off (see our post on another category: the elsinore and yet another category the royal enfield) but given its electric powerhouse, it is the most green of them all. the mission one bike can be reserved prior to launch for as little as $68,995 (tires are included). well done mr. yves behar, may the force remain with you. by dd
“made like a gun, goes like a bullet”
my first decent couple of bucks is going to be directly invested in a royal enfield! i’m dreaming of it at night since my father told me once that the motorbike that “O’rence” is riding in lawrence of arabia is this very one.
i love everything about this brand from their history, to their logo, to the look to the end of the story… and what they still produce is still the same than it used to be non-like mini, fiat 500 and so on!
royal enfield was the brand of the enfield cycle company, a british engineering company. notable for producing motorcycles, it also produced bicycles, lawnmowers, stationary engines, and even rifle parts for the royal small arms factory in enfield lock. this legacy of weapons manufacture is reflected in the logo, a cannon, and their motto “made like a gun, goes like a bullet”. it also enabled the use of the brand name royal enfield from 1890. in 1955 enfield of india started assembling bullet motorcycles under licence from UK components, and by 1962 were manufacturing complete bikes. the original Redditch, worcestershire based company dissolved in 1971, but enfield of India, based in chennai, continued, and bought the rights to use the royal enfield name in 1995. royal enfield production continues, and now royal enfield is the oldest motorcycle company in the world still in production and bullet is the longest production run model.[1] by pp’

Honda CR250M elsinore CM
one of my oldest memories is that of the one big kid in our neighborhood who had a silver honda elsinore. he was my hero, as i would peddle on my tricycle and stare at the silver tank as it stood partly leaning on its kick stand. i loved the sweeping exhaust pipe and just about everything else on that bike. i also recall the sound of the engine, distinctively high and sharp. anyhow, i came upon this rather funny japanese honda promotional film made when the bike first launched, and had to post it. especially given that, motocross fan, steve mcqueen himself is in the film! makes me want to go out there now. by uh
