Dutch model Dioni Tabbers by karen collins
mini vixens beware. dioni tabbers (supreme model management) shot in london on location at cromwell muse with stylist sasa thomann. love the 60’s feel and the vintage mini and its baby blue color (somewhat rare)… not that we don’t like dioni tabbers, but i’m just impressed at the chest room in the back of the this tiny of all cars. reminds me a bit of the french brand paul & joe campaign by the same photog. photographed by karen collins. by dd
lanvin dance video: fall winter 2011
hmmmm…lanvin dance contest… i’m sure it will work and do very well given the audience, even though they may not be the actual clientele of lanvin. i saw this, over the weekend when a friend was bragging how great it was. i’m not 100% convinced, but i do like the fact that it breaks with stogy world of fashion and brings some lightness and fun into fashion. now while albaz is a cooky, fun fellow, the brand isn’t. H&M pulled it off well on the lanvin, lagerfeld, and viktor & rolf spots, i think this video which is a complete reference to burning rocks (fassbinders script) which we had posted ages ago. it’s not executed as well as it could have been, and places the lanvin house line quite close to the H&M lanvin line, and that is not very brilliant. by dd
Kale Teter: Do we have a winner?
months ago NARS cosmetics launched a contest online for the best makeup talent to match a look. the site www.makeupyourmind.com got flooded with millions of hits from across the world by pros and non pros. one of our friends took the challenge so we kept up with her, egging her on. but the irony of it all is that at the end, kale teter, a boy, appears to be the real winner based on our assessment of his total votes, and he rocked it too. based on the rules of the game if he indeed wins, he will get a trip to new york with a friend, with hotel car and meals included and not only receive a lick-able NARS make up set, but also get to go backstage during fashion week and hang with the cream on top. not bad for a boy from texas… girls we are disappointed with the “all of youz”… the world is obviously ruled by men, once again. NARS is supposed to release the winners soon so keep an eye all you people. site idea, design and production by new york luxury agency ceft and company. by cm
blk denim – gazette
hairy man about town, johan lindeberg, is offering a “gazette” along his new concept blk denim. not sure if the world need another yuppie rocker fashion brand but producing a newspaper like that is always nice. by pp.
anja rubik by Hedi Slimane the full story
this story with emmanuelle alt for french vogue back in 2010 was quite nice, despite different from what we all thought of hedi and his candid B&W. i was still glad to see that hedi, unlike karl, was no debutant and actually has something to share. i tried to buy 3 images from trunk at some point last year but hedi was being a pain not happy with the usage although it was indirectly related to US vogue. i’m sure he doesn’t need the extra few dollars so at the end i appreciated that. in any case i finally managed to get the full story in one place and thought id share it. by dd

thylane lena-rose blondeau 10 year old model photographed as a grown up women. gorgeous young girl but isn’t it too early for her to be wearing makeup and heels.definitely something new and different but is this appropriate; i guess it depends a lot on each persons point of view. i would say it is fun but too seductive…what is your take? by ac

madame gres as sculptor, musee bourdelle
if you happen to be in paris sometime, you should definitely go to musee bourdelle which is one of the cutest museum in paris but if you happen to be there before the 28th of august then you can’t afford to miss the madame gres exhibition. the lady was married to a painter and thought of her work as a designer as sculpting. that’s why putting up this show at the musee bourdelle, is so nice and make so much sense. far from any kind of dusty fashion exhibition that we’re all used to, it seems a must go! interesting article here by pp.
