Jacques Brel, Scott Walker, David Bowie, Marc Almond – my death: WOOOOOW!!!
amazing live cover by bowie, performing a jacques brel original (got like four versions of that) covered by scott walker first (got that too), then by bowie clearly and only then by marc almond (got that too). played here beautifully with acoustic and piano in 1973. wish i was there. by dd
nice new song: stilyagi by puro instinct (feat. ariel pink)
very david sylvian/japan influenced in looks if not substance. nice from la la land. by dd
rock & roll suicide: david bowie
first and last and always: when goth was in order
nine while nine by sisters of mercy. still a good track and good lyrics for the time. i saw that we had posted this other track by sisters of mercy a while back too, which was rerecorded and covered by nouvelle vague. by dd

director nicholas mendez on pasolini
ok don’t kill me for the 16 image post but im obsessing over nicholas mendez film. it’s like a cliff notes on pasolini and may i say it’s more successfully disturbing than the film itself because of its very sporadic, short clips. not sure i’ve seen another music video as effectively lingering as this. like to meet nicholas for a coffee one day and i’m sure ill be visiting pasolini on the screen again soon. by dd
famous guns – elvis presley’s doctor’s gun
damn you pp you beat me to it posting that elvis gun, i had grabbed this a while back but was waiting to post and you beat me to it. that said i must admit that presley’s doctor had better taste than elvis himself. no idea who the hell he was, but the dude killed the king in style, not like that lame ass michael jacksons doc. that’s fo’ sure… by xy
Pier Paolo Pasolini and the scissor sisters: invisible light
pet shop boys? frankie goes to hollywood? relax… it’s the scissor sisters. not a fan of the band nor the song but the video references to pasolini & bunuel are awesome and unexpected for such a pop video. some nice moments and a nice enough girl mireia contreras. produced by canada, director nicholas mendez. by dd
famous guns – john lennon assassination gun
to continue on the celebs gun series, today is not as funny, a dude called chapman used it to kill mister john lennon. still by henry leutwiler by pp.
