Blackout on blogspot – blog removed and inaccessible for over 5 days

so what happened to tomorrow started for the past five days? have you ever seen orson welles’ film, the trial? if not go watch it. to be fair, it could have been much worse if it wasn’t for nighcruiser, the person that actually helped us get it back. here’s how it happened…

imagine you go to your blog one day, and it’s gone. all gone. can’t access. can’t log in. just taken away by the big brother that google has now become. who do you talk to? there is no one. you have to post a complaint and wait. at least nighcruiser came to our rescue, and restored it within 5 days. now that’s rather amazing considering how large blogspot/google is. turns out, we were inaccurately slapped as a spam blog by “bloggers robots”. blogger admits (see image below) that:

“…your blog is probably not a spam blog. automated spam detection is inherently fuzzy (no shit) and we sincerely apologize for this false positive.”

one down. now we still haven’t been able to remove our “content warning tag” which again must have been placed not by the “blogger’s robots” but by the pope himself. this tag is not only annoying and misplaced on such a blog as ours, it has somehow stopped our posts to pop up in google searches. looks like we’ll be moving to a more liberal, like minded, space in the very near future. disappointed at google and blogger but we do thank mister nighcruiser for saving us from a potentially bigger nightmare. by ts-staff

is your iphone stealing your content and sharing it?

oooouch!! no one told me about that. “your smart phone applications are watching you – much more closely than you might like. lookout inc., a mobile-phone security firm, scanned nearly 300,000 free applications for apple inc.’s iPhone. it found that many of them secretly pull sensitive data off users’ phones and ship them off to third parties without notification. the data can include full details about users’ contacts, their pictures, text messages and internet and search histories. the third parties can include advertisers and companies that analyze data on users. the information is used by companies to target ads and learn more about their users. the danger, though, is that the data become vulnerable to hacking and use in identity theft if the third party isn’t careful about securing the information”. read more. by xy

Bas Jan Ader : PITFALL ON THE WAY TO A NEW NEO-PLASTICISM

i love when art is simple, and about the thought, action and discovery more than just the execution, and this is why bas jan ader is one of my all time favorites. above you see him bring the theory of neoplasticism into his modern day… the belief that art should not be the reproduction of real objects, but the expression of the absolutes of life, and what is more important to discovery than the absolutes of life?

establishing in the 1910’s, the original neoplasticists were piet mondrian and theo van doesburg. they believed that the only absolutes of life were vertical and horizontal lines and the primary colors. to this end neoplasticists only used planar elements and the colors red, yellow, and blue. thank goodness this perspective evolved off of the canvas, and surely brought us conceptual art. by kl

diptyque – still in love!

after proudly sporting diptyque’s for about ten years i wanted a changes and went unfaithfully to every other perfumers in paris to get an idea on what to switch for. my nose went to numerous more or less pleasant smells, people were really nice and the all experience was pretty glamorous but nothing rocked my world and i eventually went back to diptyque! i know it’s a bit mainstream nowadays and kind of obvious but they’re my guys!
ps: do you fellows know the name ditptyque comes from the fact their original store on boulevard saint germain is a corner and offers two large windows that the founders interpreted as… a diptyque! by pp’
