hedi slimane american youth mk2 box set

i guess everybody knows about this box set already as it’s not first hand info, but this hedi slimane box set released with french “art & essai” movie theater mk2 is very promising. nothing first hand there either, but a collection of great movies that definitely explains a lot about mister slimane’s obsession for youth and a certain vision of america (as the title can let you guess).
so there are eleven movies:
Rebel Without a Cause by Nicholas Ray; Who’s That Knocking at My Door by Martin Scorsese; Woodstock by Michael Wadleigh; Zabriskie Point by Michelangelo Antonioni; Permanent Vacation by Jim Jarmusch; Rumble Fish by Francis Ford Coppola; Last Days / Mala Noche by Gus Van Sant; Boys Don’t Cry by Kimberley Peirce; Mysterious Skin by Gregg Araki; Wassup Rockers by Larry Clark. by pp’

brinell hard drives: German hard drives with a bit of french finish

the german manufacturer brinell is offering something more than the usual half-a-terabyte of storage in a grey plastic case. the 1.8in Purestorage XS series comes in options of macassar wood and leather, each material set against chrome trim. the drives are entirely USB powered and are available with a 160GB raw capacity. the larger, 2.5″ products measure 109 x 74 x 13mm, weigh 180g and contain a 500GB drive. a bit over priced (around £200) and a little too late perhaps given the cloud computing trend ahead but why not? by zz

genius drunk

such a good design for such a good idea, the pneumatic corkscrew (no screwing anymore though). you stab the cork you press and the air that is shoved in the bottle is having the cork to pop, pretty simple, we just had to think about it. and you can get it from dean and deluca for less than a screwpull. great christmas gift for daddys by pp’

what comes around goes around

our friend jean luc godard once said that “the matter it’s not where you take things from, but where you bring them to”… well not very far in this case but it’s enough to be great.
so, i love the original, i love the new version and i can’t wait to smell those pretty byredo perfumes that i’ve seen all around for a while but never been able to put my noze on. by pp’

Damien Hirst: skateboard decks for supreme new york

xmas is upon us and i was looking for two boards for two of my favorite girls in the world, now this may not be a girls dream but i think its pretty close as far as boards get. hirst and supreme have a long standing relationship and these are bound to be limited in their edition at supreme. try, if you can to get one… they are being collected, one of each by avid fans (fans of hirst more than supreme i would guess), saw a friend with 2 and he said its the only two he “didn’t” have. good luck. a set is already available on ebay for $1,849.99. by dd
