paris gallery owner thaddeus ropac who is in charge of the estate of photographer robert mappelthorpe is having different people with an art background curating an exhibition of mappelthrope pictures every other year. after hedi slimane and robert wilson, here is sofia coppola to pick her favorite image from the archives of the photographer. it’s always very interesting to see the choices someone with a particular eye makes. hedi slimane picked images that looked like his own photos and miss coppola’s selections look like her movies of course. sofia coppola’s are less obvious and less known. by pp.
