550 spyder issued 1953 through 1956

aka “giant killer”… not many were made but perhaps the most famous of the first 90 porsche 550’s built was mister james dean’s “little bastard” numbered 130 which he fatally crashed into a 1950 ford custom on september 30, 1955.  it turns out the killer in the name was quite appropriate. by dd

Alice: long legs and all

our lovely friend alice rausch… we are doing a twin project and thought of you alice and your twin sister, but came across this instead… the only problem is that you have to learn to dance like a rock star, if not then we’ll have to have you direct one day ; ) by dd

cuts you with his looks

antónio variações was a portuguese barber born in 1944 with a dream of becoming a singer. he accomplished his dream in the 80’s and became an iconic singer in portugal. he was openly gay and died of AIDS and looks really cool in these photos I must say. thanks mc/dc. by ak

celine sk8

celine trying to be street with daria werbowy and a skateboard, shot by juergen teller…kinda corny but i like it. not sure how i missed this, or graffiti artist kidult’s SK8 tag on the celine paris store, seems like a pretty convenient collab rather than a protest, either way i’m sure celine got some press out of it. by m+m

dissection 101

to most, the dissection of a human cadaver may seem downright vile–an unnatural activity or an off-putting endeavor.  however, to an anatomical dissector who also happens to be an innate artist and visionary, the human body and its attributes are flawless and paramount.  these works, conceived by dr. frank scali (www.drfrankscali.com), propose and demonstrate what the inner workings of some infamous humans would look like.  art, science, pop culture and history–an unspeakably succinct and powerful union indeed. by jr + sv
