…is an aphorism or a collection of such aphorisms in the form of a manual, or more broadly, a text in hinduism or buddhism, literally meaning a thread or line that holds things together. it is also a current performance at sadler’s wells in london. i very much envy those who have the opportunity to experience. inspired by the serenity of shaolin monks from china, choreographer sidi larbi cherkaoui decided to collaborate with them for an hour-long piece for the stage. by kl

Degage: a film by Homme starring simone kerr
dance is surely king and when ballet is incorporated it gets an extra star. like this little film by young australian director cale ‘good times’ mason and stylist sarah scaife starring lovely dancer simone kerr. nice color, nice edit, good moves. extra effort would be appreciated in story and maybe a better hair do… but what do i know about hair, you should look at mine. if you’re into ballet inspired clips here’s amelia and another dub davami from previous posts. by xy

filippo perini: on the design of the lamborghini aventador super car
origami at its finest
filippo perini sketches the lamborghini aventador
a rather cheeky video from marketing: selling you on the car that will save you from armageddon… or, god himself for that matter.
ok i’m not, in any way, a fan of obnoxious modern cars of the past 30 years. my love is for the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s cars of the le mans and monaco grand prix. i hate nearly all modern cars and the tacky people who drive them; but this car, love it or not, is a genius design that you can’t ignore. this car is so elegantly and effortlessly resolved, it can only be the work of a japanese origami master, but it isn’t. it’s actually the handy work of the italian filippo perini, and my hat is off to him. it’s good to see that italian’s can still do one thing right. the design will become a true classic, next to the small ferrari 246 GTS and the porsche 904. to me it was never about speed; as i always say, it’s all about style…but the aventador seems to have both. at 0-60 mph in just 2.9 seconds and a top speed of 217 mph from its V12 engine, it’s not the fastest car today, nor is it the most expensive at almost 400,000 USD, but i wouldn’t mind having one if i could drive it away from the public’s eye. by dd

when you sleep under a sea
that’s all it took, i placed the sea scape above my bed and the rest came to me like the dust in the morning rays. “you did not kill the fish only… to sell for food… you killed him for pride and because you are a fisherman. you loved him when he was alive and you loved him after…”

frank o’hara reading perhaps his most famous work. reinstating the importance of moments, just sharing a soda, a smile, etc. always helps to hear it from the poet’s mouth too. by sv
